About us
Campsight was established to provide tools for communities, counties, and firefighting teams as they adapt to our changing climate. Campsight's design principles focus on durability, simplicity, and a balance of scientific rigor and engineering practicality.
The Founder
Jesse Mills grew up in the western United States and experienced firsthand the impacts of wildfires on communities. His family's properties were affected by wildfires, which influenced his decision to work on solutions. Utilizing his interest in entrepreneurship and hardware engineering background, he developed the Campsight environmental sensor.
Jesse lives in Palisade, Colorado with his partner and wiener dog. His professional background includes technical and leadership roles in aerospace, medical device design, and outdoor cellular product development. His expertise is in power electronics and analog circuit design, particularly involving batteries and solar panels. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Colorado, Boulder. Jesse enjoys skiing, biking, camping, and is trying to learn fly fishing with mixed success.
